Carpet Beetles

Carpet beetles are exactly what they sound like – beetles that live in and feed off of carpet/fabrics. While they can cause damage to carpet and fabrics if left untreated for a long time, it’s pretty uncommon.

They do not bite, sting, or spread diseases, but the little hairs on the larvae can cause skin irritation that is often mistaken for bed bug bites.

Vacuum carpet and flooring thoroughly and often, especially in corners and crevices, against baseboards, and underneath rugs.

Inspect stored linens/clothing/fabrics for larvae or other activity, wash linens, and clean out storage areas.
